This event is a murder mystery weekend.

The murder mystery will start at 4pm on the Saturday and finish around 11am on the Sunday. For more information about how our weekends work see our FAQ.

This package includes a cream tea^† and dinner on the Saturday and breakfast on the Sunday.

You can optionally add a second night’s stay (Friday or Sunday) including breakfast, so that you can you use the hotel facilities and/or visit the local sights.

^† A cream tea is a cup of tea and scones with cream and jam.

Plot:

Alastair Hawthorne, founder of the two hotel chains that became known as Hawthorne Hotels and Qualitas, is dead. To his relatives, he was regarded as a hard-hearted businessman who effectively split his family in two by dividing his empire into two parts, one for each son, setting brother against brother. Now, everyone is apprehensive as to what his final gift to his kin will be. Both halves of his fractious family and many key employees have been invited to the reading of his will. With his trademark sense of drama very much in evidence, tension is mounting. Each side has many scores to settle, with each other and with Alastair. But which side of the family, if any, has he favoured?
