Guests are invited to the inaugural Murder Mystery Weekend experience on this luxury private island resort off the coast of Bintan just 90km from Singapore. Running fromNovember 7 to 9, the cool murder mystery event will be brought to life by actors from Evolve School of Performing Arts. The isolated setting combined with the actors heightens the suspense and immersion. Participants will feel cut off from the outside world within the eco-conscious surroundingslike the characters in these classic mystery stories. Certainly, every clue and twist will feel extra dramatic and your sense of adventure and intrigue will be enhanced in this exclusive hotel resort.

The first edition of the event in April was a stage for deception, secrets, and unexpected twists, which saw the unmasking of the culprit who killed Victor during a communal dinner on Cempedak’s Jetty. From tangled connections to drama, and mischief…guests have a thrilling time. Indeed, the second edition is expected to be even more immersive.

The murder mystery game begins the moment you board the ferry on the way to the island. A chilling murder is revealed the first night which sets the stage for a weekend of riveting investigation. Throughout Saturday, guests will embark on an adventure to search for cryptic clues hidden on the island, interrogate suspects, and piece together the mystery. Additionally, there’ll be a group dinner in the evening where guests can debate, share theories, and identify possible suspects.

Participants can soak up the rich landscapes of Cempedak Island, savour fresh Indonesian meals, sip cocktails by the sea, hike through the rainforest, spot wildlife, relax on white sand beaches, go rock climbing, and much more – all while solving the murder mystery. Meanwhile, sports enthusiasts can enjoy tennis courts, a range of water activities like kayaking, and swims in private infinity pools. Overall, the weekend offers the perfect balance of suspense and relaxation.

How to book

The murder mystery event is a three-day, two-night experience with prices starting at $1,845,00 for single occupancy villa. Meanwhile, double occupancy costs $2,200.00 and triple occupancy costs $3,156.00. Additional nights are available at discounted rates if participants would like to extend their staycation. All rates include itineraries, activities, two-night accommodation, daily meals, and transfers to and from Bintan Ferry Terminal.

The return ferry from Singapore to Bintan departs at 11.10am, 2.35pm, 4.35pm, and 6.35pm on November 9, 2025.

Cempedak Island can be reached via 1-hour ferry to Bintan from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal. Transfers to the private island are usually arranged by the resort. Guests should allow up to two hours travel time. Learn more.
