The long-awaited return of Murder Mystery Night is finally here, as Caught Red Handed Productions bring their hugely popular event back to The Royal Esplanade Hotel following a sell-out success in 2024. This year’s experience promises an all-new storyline packed with intrigue, humour and audience participation, making it an evening not to be missed.

Guests are invited to enjoy a delicious two-course dinner while becoming immersed in a live, interactive murder mystery that unfolds throughout the night.

The event takes place on Saturday 7th March 2026, starting at 7:15pm and concluding at 10:30pm. Tickets are priced at £34.95 per person, and early booking is strongly advised as demand is expected to be high.

This year’s plot, Time for a Rhyme – Crime!, is set around the Borrowdale Annual Poetry Competition Final, held at The Royal Esplanade Hotel in Ryde. As poets gather for the prestigious announcement, the question arises: will the evening end with applause for a winner, or shock at the discovery of a murder? With a colourful cast of suspects, guests are challenged to step into the shoes of legendary fictional detectives such as Miss Marple, Rebus, Vera or Father Brown.

Throughout the evening, attendees will quiz suspects, examine evidence, study pathology reports and piece together clues as the mystery deepens. It’s an engaging, light-hearted experience full of twists, guaranteed laughs and plenty of suspense — “so much fun, it’s almost a crime”.
